Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of SkillPort, a marketplace and registry for AI-agent skills. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Security page.

Last updated: [operator to complete]

1. Who we are

SkillPort is operated by [operator to complete] (“SkillPort”, “we”, “us”). Our registered entity, address, and the governing law and jurisdiction for these terms are [operator to complete]. Questions about these terms can be sent to [operator to complete].

2. Accounts and sign-in

You sign in with a GitHub or Google account through our identity provider. We receive a basic profile from that provider (such as your username, display name, avatar, and email) to create and secure your account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials safe. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use SkillPort.

3. API keys and the CLI

Installing a skill requires an API key, which authenticates the SkillPort command-line tool. We store only a prefix and a SHA-256 hash of each key, never the key itself, so the full value is shown to you exactly once at creation. Treat a key like a password: keep it out of shared shells, logs, and source control. You can revoke a key at any time from your account, and we may revoke keys that appear compromised or abused.

4. Publishing skills

If you publish a skill, you confirm that you have the right to distribute it and its documentation, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or contain malicious code. Every version you submit passes the same automated scanning and human review before it can be listed; there is no trusted-publisher bypass. You retain ownership of your skill and grant us the licence needed to host, scan, display, and distribute it through SkillPort and its CLI. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for honouring any licence you attach to it.

5. Vetting is evidence, not a warranty

We scan and review every version of every skill, and we describe a skill as scanned and reviewed at a specific version on a specific date. We never call a skill “safe”. A review is evidence about a specific set of bytes at a point in time, not a guarantee about future behaviour. A skill runs inside a tool-enabled agent with access to your files, shell, and network; treat any skill, from any marketplace, as code you are choosing to run. Read the full methodology on our Security page.

6. Community imports and attribution

Some listings are community imports: skills redistributed from public open-source repositories under permissive licences, with attribution to the upstream project on each listing. Imports pass the same scanning and review as any other skill. If you are an upstream author and want your work amended, re-attributed, or removed, contact us and we will action the request promptly.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload malware or deceptive skills, attempt to evade or probe the scanner for weaknesses, impersonate others, scrape or overload the service, or use SkillPort to break the law. Reviews and reports must be honest. We may rate-limit, suspend, or remove content and accounts that break these rules, and we operate a listing-level kill switch that can suspend a skill across the site and the download path at once.

8. Reporting and takedown

Every skill page has a report path. Reports go to our moderation queue; a confirmed harmful listing is suspended immediately, which stops new downloads at the same moment it leaves the catalogue. We may act on reports, licence complaints, and legal requests at our discretion. The reporting and takedown process is described further on our Security page.

9. Pricing and paid listings

SkillPort is free to use at launch. Paid listings are not yet generally available; access to publish a paid skill is by request while payments are being finalised. We will make any fees, and the terms that apply to them, clear before you are charged. Nothing in these terms obliges you to pay for a feature you have not agreed to.

10. Disclaimers and liability

SkillPort is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for loss arising from skills you choose to install and run, from third-party providers, or from circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. The specific limits and any consumer rights that apply are set out under [operator to complete].

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service evolves; we will change the “last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. For any question about these terms, contact [operator to complete].
